AUDINT: Martial Hauntology

Custom cushioned triple gatefold release that contains an LP on 180gm clear vinyl, a 112-page book and six 12x12” Dead Record Archive cards with artwork by Optigram comes as a limited edition of 256 copies. The Dead Record Office book charts the evolution of sonic research cell AUDINT, since the end of WW2 to the current day and links the underground groove of the Large Hadron Collider with the vaults of the Bank of Hell; connects the Dead Record Network with the Phantom Hailer; and traces the evolution of the Wandering Soul Tapes to the viral dynamics of the online spectreware named IREX2. The vinyl contains two sub-chapters, each plugging into the accompanying book’s narrative. Side A, entitled Delusions of the Living Dead reports on a 1949 research mission into Jules Cotard’s notebooks, conducted via an illicit truth serum while DRNE Cartography on Side B reveals Wall Street journalist Te-Peng Chen’s spectral hunt through the vinyl recycling plants of South China via messages left on Buddha boxes. The set of 6 x 12”x12” matt laminated cards, each featuring an event/person/technology that has been implicated in the evolution of sound and unsound as a weapon, completes the package.
